The new student housing facilities are designed in an empty area of land, an urban void, between university facilities and a small park. The concept is to collect the building volume on the edges of the plot in two bigger structures and in that way deliver the maximum open public space to the students and the residents. Different passages remain free converting the in-between space to an accessible area, a gesture making the complex part of the city.
The connecting metal bridge aims to contrast to the concrete body of the buildings and infiltrate the facilities with common areas, open to the visitor and the resident for communal use and socializing. The houses consist of three different typologies ranging from one to four bedrooms, from studios to double story apartments. The landscape creates triangular forms to catch up with the sloping ground and compose a unified layer of green areas and public facilities on the ground floor level of the buildings.
